Take a guided 4-wheel-drive tour of the Blue Mountains with exclusive private access to view the largest enclosed canyon in the Southern Hemisphere, Capertee Valley. Other highlights include the Lost City, viewing ancient Aboriginal rock art, and spotting Australian animals in the wild. The tour includes pickup from any hotel or train station in the Blue Mountains area.

Your 4WD tour begins with pickup from your accommodation or train station in the Blue Mountains for the drive to your first stop, Clarence, at the site of the Old Zig Zag railway.

Head straight into the adventure with some serious four-wheel-driving before continuing to the Lost City, a formation of rock pagodas etched from nature over millions of years. After visiting these formations, check out some Aboriginal artwork painted thousands of years ago, and then visit the Royal Hotel at Capertee for a lunch of home-cooked items and a drink, enjoyed by a coal fire in the winter months.

After lunch, head off to do some creek crossings and hopefully spot a few wallabies and other native wildlife. The final part of your tour provides exclusive access to a private property with 270-degree views of Capertee Valley, the largest valley in the Southern Hemisphere and second-largest in the world (by width), second only to the Grand Canyon. The views seem to go on forever and overlook the giant Pantoneys Crown.

You will then be dropped back at your accommodation or the train station of your preference in the Blue Mountains, where your tour concludes.

Abseiling and canyoning in the Blue Mountains is undoubtedly the most thrilling experience with the best value anywhere near Sydney. This fantastic 8-hour guided entry-level adventure allows you to gear-up and abseil the cliffs of Katoomba, before descending through a canyon in the UNESCO World Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park. Tour is limited to 10 people to ensure personalized service and includes a catered lunch as well as all required technical equipment and transport.

Upon departure from the Paddy Pallin Adventure Center in Katoomba at 8:45am, you'll board your vehicle and head to the area where you'll begin the first part of your adventurous day focused on acquiring your abseiling skills. Start with several short practice abseils and then move up to some higher challenges.

After a catered lunch of gourmet sandwiches, test your new skills with a trip through Empress Canyon. The journey takes you deep inside the sandstone cliff where you'll wade, scramble, swim and jump into pools. Complete your canyon journey with a thrilling waterfall abseil down Empress Falls.

In the cooler months (typically May 1st to September 30th), you'll descend Juggler Canyon and explore the lower section of the Blue Mountains' own 'Grand Canyon.' This trip does not involve getting in to water (though you will get wet feet), while descending multiple abseils to reach the end of the canyon.

From the end of the canyon adventure, you'll hike back to the bus and take in some of the most impressive views to be found anywhere in the Blue Mountains along the way. Your approximate return to the Adventure Center is 4:30pm.
