Explore Batemans Marine Park in a glass-bottom kayak, an innovative vessel that allows for wildlife viewing while staying on top of the water. During this 2.5-hour tour with a guide, view the underwater world of Batemans Bay as you look for marine life such as stingrays and blue swimmer crabs. Select a morning or afternoon tour when booking.

The aim of your wildlife adventure by glass-bottom kayak is to find as much marine life as possible as you paddle around the protected Batemans Marine Park sanctuary zones.

This significant area of tidal sand flats, seagrass beds, and mangrove systems harbors a vast amount of ocean species who spend their breeding cycles here. Look for stingrays, blue swimmer crabs, schools of fish, octopus, and fiddler rays. The area is also home to Australian cultural heritage, as it was inhabited by the Yuin people for more than 12,000 years.

Enjoy a family-friendly experience in your stable, glass-bottom kayak—the ideal way to explore this otherwise inaccessible area. This guided tour is suitable for everyone, from first-time kayakers to nature-lovers to those who just want to relax in a beautiful setting.

Enjoy spectacular views of the South Coast of New South Wales and the surrounding wilderness on a challenging 3-hour hike of Pigeon House Mountain followed by a stop at a local beach or Clyde River for a swim. This guided tour includes lunch and snacks throughout the day; the trip lasts about 8 hours including round-trip transportation from Batemans Bay. Operates in a small-group of no more than 10 people to ensure a personal experience.

Begin the day by meeting your guide in the designated hotel waiting area of your Batemans Bay hotel at 8am. If you're staying outside of Batemans Bay, you may alternately arrange for pickup from Korners Park Car Park at 9am. Travel north in a comfortable, air conditioned 4WD vehicle for approximately one hour with a bathroom stop along the way. Pass through Morton National Park where you will catch glimpses of the southern end of the Sydney Sandstone Basin through the spotted gum forest.

Arrive at Pigeon House Hill around 10am to begin your 3-hour hike. The Aboriginal name is 'Didhol', meaning Big Mountain, but the mountain was later named Pigeon House Hill by Captain Cook in 1770. Begin the hike with a challenging first ascent up the steep first section of the hill. Your moderately strenuous hike will feature views of the coastline stretching from Point Perpendicular in the north all the way to Mount Dromedary in the south on a good day.

Take a breather to enjoy an incredible view to the south at the first rest stop on top of a granite outcrop. Rest, re-hydrate and take some photos of the scenery. Continue along a relatively flat trail for the next 30 minutes. The mountain features a series of steel ladders and platforms constructed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service. At the top, take some time to admire the expansive views of the ocean and the Buddawang Wilderness. Enjoy a snack, a drink and great photo opportunities at the summit before beginning your descent.

On the return hike back to the car park, take in the sights to the south towards Batemans Bay and stop for a lunch of high energy salads or wraps. End the hike around 2pm then head to either a local beach or the freshwater of the pristine Clyde River where you will have a chance to soak your feet or take a refreshing swim. You will be transferred back to your hotel or original meeting point in Batemans Bay at the conclusion of the tour at approximately 4pm.
